Luxury Design: Original Designs

In our last post, we talked about Luxury Design. While some projects call for basics and neutrals, some call for materials that are more intricate and luxurious. So we’re breaking down some of the key features of our luxury collections. In this post, we want to talk about the importance of Original Designs.

There’s a renowned tile design studio we work with. Their motto is: “You Can Only Work With People You Like.” And you know what? It shows. Their management, marketing team and designers work together to explore architecture, landscape, art, fashion, design, culture – and the world around them. They don’t follow trends. They set them. They influence many of the designs you see today (or will see tomorrow) in restaurants, hotels, resorts, casinos and more. So when they work on tile designs, they are truly artistic, inventive and 100% original.

The company is called Mutina Ceramics. They’re based in Italy, and they collaborate with some of the most influential designers of our time:

Patricia Urquiola, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Tokujin Yoshioka, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay of Raw Edges, Inga Sempé, Konstantin Grcic and Hella Jongerius.

They are a close-knit team that share the same passions in their work: art, good design, architecture, product approach and a unique take on life.

We’d like you to take a closer look at their designs. We think you’ll see what we see… tile as art. You can view all Mutina materials here. If you fall in love with a particular design and need help pulling together your palette, just give us a call or shoot us an email (info@missionstonetile.com). We’ll be happy to help you.
